Holy moly, it’s been a while!!
Quite a few things are actually going on and although I’ve had plenty of free time to blog…I just preferred to do other things ^_^
New thing #1, I got a new job. I am a housekeeper at the Best Western here in Tumbler Ridge. It’s actually a satisfying job, though I’ve always enjoyed cleaning for other people more than for myself. It also gets me to be active during the days. Hard work is exactly what I’ve been needing! The ladies that I work with are also pretty darn nice, which is great since normally when you get so many ladies together cattiness can ensue.
Brandon’s at the fire hall doing receptionist-y stuff as well as some firefighter duties. It’s not exactly the work he wants to do, but it’s 100X better than working at a mine and at least is in the general area that he’d like to be employed in. We’re still waiting to hear back from Medicine Hat.
I’ve also gotten back into video games, namely Final Fantasy 13. I started playing it about 2 years ago and am only now am I nearly done. I’m at the second last boss fight and while I get very close to beating him, I wind up getting the death timer and die. But I’m determined to be done by this weekend, that way when Skyrim comes out on the 11th I’ll be able to start it without the guilt of having not finished FFXIII.
Autumn is coming to a quick end as below zero temperature are now the new normal. Unfortunately there hasn’t been too much snow in town (though there’s plenty on the mountains) which means we’ve been putting off the purchase of snowshoes. I suppose this is actually a good thing, since it means we can get a few more out of town trips to Dawson Creek in before the roads start to get less than drive worthy. Speaking of snow, Brandon will be ref-ing hockey this year. Whether this means I’ll be spending time there while he refs is still under consideration :P
