I am now 100% acclimated to working again. It was a little difficult at first, what with having to set the alarm clock and be forced out of bed instead of lounging around as long as I felt I required it. But then I found that I really like my job.
The job?
Working at the golf course in the pro shop. Driving golf carts around. Booking tee times. Taking people’s money. Chatting with the senior men who come in first thing in the morning for a round.
These days, I’ve discovered that I only need 6 hours of sleep in order to function normally.
For this job I did end up leaving my casual position. A few things lead to my leaving the community center, the main of which is that in the past couple of months I’ve had maybe 2 shifts. Besides, the golf course, despite only being part-time, is really just shy of full-time, which occupies my week well and good on its own.
Brandon is changing jobs, too. No more Peace River Coal!! For the next six weeks he’ll be at the T.R. Fire Hall, after which he’ll likely start at Western Coal until he finds work as a full-time firefighter.
Lots of changes, but the amount of silly, giddy, happiness in this house is benefit enough :)
