We're here!!!
In Tumbler Ridge that is. We arrived last night, and gosh was it a pain. The apartment we were counting on fell through since the guy who owns it is out of town and can't get a key for us until Tuesday. So we scoured the bulletin board outside the grocery store and found a place. It is very bitter sweet...because thanks to a black light we know exactly how grimy the place is. But it's a place. Our place. And we are going to clean like crazy people who love to clean. When we are done...it's going to rock!!
One thing I'm truly grateful for is our standard sized stove and oven. Normally apartments like this have those small, can't fit a cookie sheet sized ovens, but we lucked out and will be able to fit something on all the burners at one time! I'm very excited to clean the kitchen and make it mine...though I'm crying on the inside a little because it's a very small kitchen.
**BTW Brandon will likely upload some pictures sometime today**
Updates will follow!

Movin' On Up!
And I'm back!
I have to admit, I think I'll enjoy having Brandon do a few updates once in a while^_^
Big news just came our way... Brandon is hired in Tumbler Ridge! Peace River Coal finally gave us a call back so now we're in the middle of a mad dash to get all our stuff packed and ready to go by Saturday. His first day is Wednesday!! The only snag is that we don't exactly have a place to live. So we're really counting on his connections up there to help us out in that department.
It's going to be yet another busy week around here, and I'll be really glad to finally settle somewhere, temporary though it may be. I'm really looking forward to having my own kitchen. We received so many great gifts that there's nothing left for me to get. Well...except for a fancy fancy espresso machine. Maybe a dehydrator, too.
I really hope we make friends fast(though with Brandon I doubt it'll take long at all), since I have a huge itch to have dinner parties and potlucks! I love the idea of being some kind of a domestic goddess. Goodness knows I have quite a way to go before realized THAT dream...but gosh darn I'm going to keep trying!

I'm a married woman!
Hey everyone!
I'm actually not a married woman.... I'm a married man!! It's Brandon here, Roxy is procrastinating too much to update her blog so here I go!
We got married on Saturday, August 22. We were really hoping for an outside wedding but since it was POURING, we had to do it at the E-free Church. We had a great ceremony which flew by. Right after that, we headed off with my sister, Jen, to take pictures at the local ice cream shop to get some free ice cream and take some pictures. Then it was off to Ferry Island, a campground between Terrace and Thornhill, and took some more pictures. After the pictures, we went to the reception, then.... HONEYMOON! Well... kinda honeymoon. Eventually we'll head off to the South Pacific, Bora Bora or something like that. Anyways, honeymoon, we went to the Crest Hotel in Prince Rupert.
On the way there we came within feet of hitting a black bear.

Not him, but his cousin.
Sunday morning we went down to the docks, jumped on a boat, and went whale watching!
Here's my by beautiful wife walking into the covered part of the boat,

This is the boat that took us on our little adventure.

We didn't see an amazing show, however, we did see a alot of tails and a few whales breaching in the distance. Unfortunately, I couldn't get any pictures of them. I guess a 50 ton whale falls back in the water pretty fast.

Along with the whales we did see some seagulls standing on a log in the middle of nowhere.

My ladies have arrived!!!
I'm am completely excited right now!!
All three of my bride's maids(and best friends) are all in town!! Kelly lives here, and I play DnD with her once a week. But Ashley lives in Vancouver, while Karlynne is in Edmonton. Distance really sucks:(
In anticipation for seeing them tomorrow I plan on making a fabulous lunch. I'm thinking along the lines of quiche with sausage and asparagus....actually, lets make it a frittata since pastry crust could easily make one of my ladies quite ill. Either way, deelish!
So...it's a wee bit late-ish, so my thoughts are only half formed and coherent.

Oh my.
Things are puttering along quite nicely. It's all very surreal. In less than a week I get married. I've procrastinated like the master that I am, yet nothing has really been left un-thought of by one person or another. And as such everything is getting accomplished.
I've attempted many different projects in my attempts to waste time. My favorite distraction has been my attempt at writing a novel. I've only gotten as far as the protagonist's back story and the over outline of the book. It's probably going to be really cheesy, what with the target demographic being young adults and teens. There are twists and turns and I'm starting to see how real authors come up with some really crazy twists where something you think is insignificant at the beginning turns out to be monumental to the whole story! I haven't really done much on it this last week, but who knows maybe I'll get bored sometime this winter and pop the whole thing out. Perhaps during NaNoWriMo!
As for this coming week. I don't have any free time to spend procrastinating. My M.O.H. and I sat down and wrote down everything that needs to get done, and when we're going to do it. So I have a very full itinerary. My free day is tomorrow(Monday), and even then I have to go for my waxings first thing in the morning, then go meet with the pastor with Brandon to go over ceremony structure.
I think I only get two or three days where I'll be able to sleep in...assuming I sleep at all >.<
This next little bit is about a video game...so feel free to skip it if you're just not that into it.
I've also started to play World of Warcraft again. I'm not nearly as obsessed with it as I used to be. I think it's only because my lack of presence for the past three months has been enough for me to fall away from my guild. So I made a priest and am just casually taking her through dungeons once in a while. I think Brandon actually plays Command and Conquer more often than I play WoW ^_^ One thing I'm really excited about is the new dungeon for level 80s(of which I have a rogue). I got to have a quick little go at it with a pug and rocked it pretty hard! But being too nice I skipped out of some new gear, figuring I'll get my chance eventually.
I shall now leave you with a funny...
